Create a User
Learn how to create and provision users.
Published Date: April 15, 2026 | Last Updated: October 9, 2026
About: This article covers creating a new User in Seasoft Identity and provisioning their access across connected integrations through Role Templates.
Notice: This guide is for creating new Users. Existing Users are imported automatically through integrations — see Configuring & Managing Integrations.
Enter the User's Details
- Navigate to Users in the left navigation.
- Select + Add User in the top right of the page.
- Enter the User's First Name, Last Name, and Email.
- Select the Role Template dropdown and choose the Role Template or Role Templates to apply to the User.
- Enter the User's Department, Job Title, and Business Unit.
- Verify the information and select Next Step.
Adjust Privileges (Optional)
The Privileges page lists each integration covered by the selected Role Templates. Changes are only needed when the User's access must differ from those templates.
- To adjust access, select an integration and change its permissions. Repeat for each integration that needs a change.
- Select Next Step.
Tip: If the User should receive exactly what the Role Templates define, select Next Step without making changes.
Review and Submit
- On the Review page, select Preview to confirm the Role Template grants all expected permissions. The template name appears in the top left of the preview, and selecting each integration shows the permissions it applies.
- Select Back when finished reviewing. This step is for verification only — if the Role Template is already known to be correct, it can be skipped.
- Select Submit.
Seasoft Identity creates the User and displays an Executing Operations message in the bottom right of the screen while provisioning runs in each integration.
Caution: The User account is always created in Seasoft Identity, but provisioning in each integration can fail independently. If a permission is missing or misconfigured, the User will exist in Seasoft Identity but may not be provisioned in one or more integrations. Each failure displays an error with a description of the issue. See Understanding Errors for common error types and resolutions.
Confirm Provisioning
- When operations finish, Seasoft Identity displays the results. A green check mark means every operation completed successfully.
- Search for the User on the Users page. The record shows the User in Seasoft Identity along with each integration they were provisioned in.
